America FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave La Bestia Negra the free kick. The supporters of La Bestia Negra booed when America FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardinho de Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelsinho Vergílio in the 9th minute of play forced America FC's goalkeeper Vito Vergílio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vito Vergílio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robinho Recife in the 11th minute of play. After 17 played minutes America FC got a freekick which was hit by Osmar Campidelis. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Ricardinho de Queiroz took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Roger de Senna to make any attempt to save it. La Bestia Negra were furious when Dalmo Ceresso was red carded, 22 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in La Bestia Negra fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 21st minute. Penalty! When Ricardinho de Queiroz was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 27 minutes had been played. Ricardinho de Queiroz kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. When Luís Eduardo Guedes fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored America FC's protests and gave Luís Eduardo Guedes a yellow card for diving instead. After 28 played minutes America FC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Eduardo Guedes. In the 29th minute of the match Nuno Brodel sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vito Vergílio skillfully saved the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Ezequiel Santos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vito Vergílio. America FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ezequiel Santos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Vito Vergílio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nelsinho Vergílio in the 39th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Ezequiel Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Bestia Negra's supporters rose to their feet, but Ezequiel Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vito Vergílio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 46 minutes, Edgard Aguiar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the America FC and the La Bestia Negra players grew even worse after the yellow card. Edgard Aguiar hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Osmar Campidelis made the kick off in the second half. Alexsandro Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Roger de Senna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 53 minutes into the game, America FC's Alexsandro Mendonça nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Roger de Senna made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Nelsinho Vergílio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Vito Vergílio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Nelsinho Vergílio managed to get in a good position for a shot. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, America FC's Alexsandro Mendonça got a free kick in the 67th minute. A collision led to La Bestia Negra getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Ezequiel Santos hit a great ball. When Diguinho Freire fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored La Bestia Negra's protests and gave Diguinho Freire a yellow card for diving instead. After 69 played minutes La Bestia Negra got a freekick which was hit by Diguinho Freire. Roger de Senna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adelino Simões, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Percival Albuquerque blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vito Vergílio having to make a save. Nelsinho Vergílio kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. In the 84th minute, Nelsinho Vergílio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nelsinho Vergílio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Vito Vergílio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nelsinho Vergílio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. America FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
