When Luís Paulo Gonçalves fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored In-Crivel EC's protests and gave Luís Paulo Gonçalves a yellow card for diving instead. After 4 played minutes In-Crivel EC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Paulo Gonçalves. Dênis Gomes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emílio Ramalho in the 6th minute of play. After 10 minutes of play, PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Bruno da Costa made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Claudinei Mendes was left in no man's land by his defense there! 13 minutes into the match, In-Crivel EC's goalkeeper Claudinei Mendes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bruno da Costa. In the 14th minute, PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Dagoberto Teixeira dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. In-Crivel EC's Claudinei Mendes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save In-Crivel EC from getting a goal against them. Claudinei Mendes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aníbal Fonseca, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Bruno da Costa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Claudinei Mendes. In-Crivel EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bruno da Costa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. 22 minutes into the match, In-Crivel EC's goalkeeper Claudinei Mendes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bruno da Costa. After some careless play in the In-Crivel EC defense, Aníbal Fonseca kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Claudinei Mendes. The In-Crivel EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Claudinei Mendes should have stopped the shot. Bruno da Costa who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Claudinei Mendes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Vivaldo Pitta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Claudinei Mendes having to make a save. With a little luck, In-Crivel EC's Claudinei Mendes got control of the ball when Bruno da Costa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bruno da Costa to make the kick off. Claudinei Mendes came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Vivaldo Pitta. But to his dismay, Vivaldo Pitta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. Claudinei Mendes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dagoberto Teixeira went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, In-Crivel EC's Célio Paes got a free kick in the 61st minute. After some careless play in the In-Crivel EC defense, Bruno da Costa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Claudinei Mendes. The In-Crivel EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Claudinei Mendes should have stopped the shot. Claudinei Mendes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno da Costa in the 68th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Aníbal Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot. PEÇONHENTO FC MG's supporters rose to their feet, but Aníbal Fonseca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudinei Mendes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Célio Paes kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dagoberto Teixeira in the 73rd minute of play forced In-Crivel EC's goalkeeper Claudinei Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd match minute, PEÇONHENTO FC MG was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Júlio Batista to maneuver through the defense. In-Crivel EC's Claudinei Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno da Costa in the 76th minute of play. Claudinei Mendes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruno da Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Vivaldo Pitta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dagoberto Teixeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Claudinei Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Vivaldo Pitta got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 93 minutes into the game, PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Bruno da Costa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Claudinei Mendes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 11-0. There was no doubt that PEÇONHENTO FC MG were the better team. PEÇONHENTO FC MG's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
