The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nilton Costa helped the player get up and apologised. Barney Thomson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Paulo Renato Nóbrega came out and tried to block the shot, but Barney Thomson slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 6th minute. Paulo Renato Nóbrega showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barney Thomson, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 10th minute Clube Audax Metropolitano were awarded a corner. Acácio Pernambucano went to the cornerflag to take it. Gildo Seco hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar Alves in the 16th minute of play forced Clube Audax Metropolitano's goalkeeper Pedro Rangel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Clube Audax Metropolitano getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Juan Gerber hit a great ball. Wellington Favoretto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Pedro Rangel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulo Renato Nóbrega showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barney Thomson in the 20th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, Barney Thomson dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Paulo Renato Nóbrega, 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Barney Thomson got free with Paulo Renato Nóbrega in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Clube Audax Metropolitano's Edgard Mineiro got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Barney Thomson in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paulo Renato Nóbrega prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Acácio Pernambucanos short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Paulo Renato Nóbrega to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Paulo Renato Nóbrega made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cléberson Medeiros in the 41st minute. 42 minutes into the match, TERROR DA MOOCA F.C.'s goalkeeper Paulo Renato Nóbrega had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zeca Siqueira. The supporters of TERROR DA MOOCA F.C. booed when Clube Audax Metropolitano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Clube Audax Metropolitano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgard Mineiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Barney Thomson might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulo Renato Nóbrega. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Barney Thomson ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 65th minute Barney Thomson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Renato Nóbrega saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute, Barney Thomson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 87 minutes into the game, Clube Audax Metropolitano's Barney Thomson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paulo Renato Nóbrega made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Zeca Siqueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Luciano Ramos hit a great ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Clube Audax Metropolitano fully deserved thier win.
