After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Cícero Saldanha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rezende FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cícero Saldanha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ian Queirós breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ian Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cícero Saldanha in the 20th minute of play. If Aloísio Guimarães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Rezende FC booed when Templários MZC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lauro Leme didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rezende FC's Aloísio Guimarães got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cícero Saldanha ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 40th minute, Olívio Souto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Olívio Souto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luciano Breckenfeld having to interfere. The Templários MZC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Rezende FC were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nuno Correia to make the kick off. Nuno Correia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luciano Breckenfeld having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Evandro Abraão during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 55th match minute, Rezende FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evandro Abraão to maneuver through the defense. Kléber Arósio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Ian Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Templários MZC booed when Rezende FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dalmo Godoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. 84 minutes into the game, Cícero Saldanha lined in a short shot 0-2 behind a frustrated Ian Queirós. After a defensive mix-up in Templários MZC's zone, Kléber Arósio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ian Queirós came out of the goal and Kléber Arósio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 92 minutes into the match, Templários MZC's goal looked a bit too open when Aloísio Guimarães came free, but Ian Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Aloísio Guimarães came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Rezende FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aloísio Guimarães couldn't finish the play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Rezende FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
