Mugur Suşu was out of position in the 7 minute of play, and Carlos Mei capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Carlos Mei really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Mei in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mugur Suşu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Carlos Mei's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mugur Suşu was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, FC GURZUN's Julien Luarasi got a free kick in the 13th minute. Carlos Mei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mugur Suşu having to interfere. Mugur Suşu came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Erdélyi SE Marosvásárhely's Carlos Mei. But to his dismay, Carlos Mei quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. 21 minutes into the match, Niculae Siteavu notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Erdélyi SE Marosvásárhely's Lyle Coppack. Lyle Coppack was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Fábio Vieira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juliusz Zieba in the 26th minute of play forced Erdélyi SE Marosvásárhely's goalkeeper Lyle Coppack to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute of the match FC GURZUN got a corner. Erdélyi SE Marosvásárhely's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Iustinian Găină ran over to the corner to take the kick. Flavius Iriza kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Carlos Mei's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mugur Suşu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. The supporters of Erdélyi SE Marosvásárhely booed when FC GURZUN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moise Cigu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erdélyi SE Marosvásárhely's Ediberto de Queirós couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 41st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for FC GURZUN. Mugur Suşu was a little too slow when Carlos Mei got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 44th minute. The score was now 4-2. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlos Mei made a kick off. When Erdélyi SE Marosvásárhely's Carlos Mei in the 51st minute got a chance for a shot 51st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC GURZUN's goalie prevented a goal. Mugur Suşu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carlos Mei's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Mei in the 58th minute of play forced FC GURZUN's goalkeeper Mugur Suşu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 67 minutes into the match, FC GURZUN's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Mei came free, but Mugur Suşu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mugur Suşu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Mei in the 71st minute of play. 73 minutes into the match, Erdélyi SE Marosvásárhely's goalkeeper Lyle Coppack had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Flavius Iriza. After a defensive mix-up in FC GURZUN's zone, Carlos Mei stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mugur Suşu came out of the goal and Carlos Mei tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. FC GURZUN made a substitution. Nae Hurmuzache replaced Juliusz Zieba. FC GURZUN's Dumitru Neguțu was substituted for Iustinian Găină. In the 79th minute Mihăiţă Stolniceanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mugur Suşu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 89 minutes into the match, FC GURZUN's goal looked a bit too open when Adrián-Daniel Dobre came free, but Mugur Suşu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC GURZUN's Mihnea Tincu was substituted for Julien Luarasi. Erdélyi SE Marosvásárhely's Eusebiu Ipătescu was substituted for Carlos Mei. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Erdélyi SE Marosvásárhely fans cheered their team off the field, for while FC GURZUN had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
