The supporters of Vi Är Gnaget...AIK booed when Norrlands Athen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jakob Friberger didn't get a good kick on the ball. 8 minutes into the match, Norrlands Athen's goal looked a bit too open when Isaac Stenberg came free, but Manfred Fribäck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Vi Är Gnaget...AIK's Charly Rabier got a free kick in the 11th minute. 13 minutes into the match, Norrlands Athen's goalkeeper Manfred Fribäck had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dennis Martinsson. With a little luck, Norrlands Athen's Manfred Fribäck got control of the ball when Chicão França tried to sneak it across the goal line. Manfred Fribäck made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Chicão França sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Källberg in the 17th minute of play forced Vi Är Gnaget...AIK's goalkeeper 郑皓默 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th minute, John Carew got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Manfred Fribäck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isaac Stenberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 郑皓默 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John Carew in the 21st minute of play. The corner ended in Gustaf Ekblom almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Norrlands Athen's Manfred Fribäck did a great save. In the 44th minute John Källberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 郑皓默 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Chicão França got free with Manfred Fribäck in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dennis Martinsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manfred Fribäck having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell John Källberg to make the kick off. Norrlands Athen's Manfred Fribäck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chicão França in the 54th minute of play. 郑皓默 showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from John Källberg in the 58th minute of the match. Norrlands Athen's Charles Blomqvist was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but 郑皓默 in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Vi Är Gnaget...AIK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that John Källberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Norrlands Athen made a substitution. Erik Ljusberg replaced John Källberg. After 83 played minutes Norrlands Athen got a freekick which was hit by Wieslaw Trzenzalski. Manfred Fribäck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chicão França in the 85th minute of play. In the 86th minute, Isaac Stenberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vi Är Gnaget...AIK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Norrlands Athen's Erik Ljusberg slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of 郑皓默. That made the score 2-2 after 96 minutes of play.
