But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caetano Simões couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Caetano Simões got free with Wágner Carneiro in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tiquinho Soares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wágner Carneiro having to interfere. 16 minutes had been played when some careless play by Os Fura Olho F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Olavo Moreno was slow to take the kick. During this time Xiboquinha FC's players had a chance to rest. In the 20th minute, Pedro Luiz Vander hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 21st minute, Xiboquinha FC's Caetano Simões dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. 25 minutes into the match, Tiquinho Soares notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Os Fura Olho F.C.'s Wágner Carneiro. Wágner Carneiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 29th minute, Xiboquinha FC's Betinho Leite dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-0. Caetano Simões could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Wágner Carneiro made a huge save. Olavo Moreno took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wágner Carneiro. Wágner Carneiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Wágner Carneiro was out of position in the 38 minute of play, and Caetano Simões capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Caetano Simões really showed his touch with that goal: 6-0. 42 minutes into the match, Caetano Simões notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of Os Fura Olho F.C.'s Wágner Carneiro. Wágner Carneiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Wágner Carneiro made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Caetano Simões sent off a good shot on target. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 7-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hélio Capixaba to make the kick off. Wágner Carneiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiquinho Soares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 53rd minute Caetano Simões shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wágner Carneiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wágner Carneiro was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Caetano Simões put it in 10-0 from a short distance just to the right of Wágner Carneiro. Wágner Carneiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Betinho Leite in the 63rd minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, Os Fura Olho F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Betinho Leite came free, but Wágner Carneiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wágner Carneiro was left in no man's land by his defense there! 91 minutes into the match, Caetano Simões had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wágner Carneiro. Os Fura Olho F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Caetano Simões was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 14-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Xiboquinha FC had played much better football throughout.
