Nelsinho Leite made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Edmílson Fernandez charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edmílson Fernandez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 14th minute, Edmílson Fernandez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 16 minutes into the match, RKO AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Aírton Sousa came free, but Fernando Felo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fernando Felo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matheus Neto in the 23rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ernie Kenney in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nelsinho Leite prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 25 minutes into the match, RKO AFC's Ernie Kenney sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nelsinho Leite narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 27th minute RKO AFC were awarded a corner. Giorgos Kyriakopoulos went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Giorgos Kyriakopoulos got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Nelsinho Leite quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Matheus Neto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Fernando Felo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ernie Kenney struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Nelsinho Leite didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RKO AFC. 35 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vascogoianiense FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Giorgos Kyriakopoulos was slow to take the kick. During this time RKO AFC's players had a chance to rest. Nelsinho Leite stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ernie Kenney's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. In the 45th minute, Aírton Sousa reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Fernando Felo. The goal made the score 1-1.

Vascogoianiense FC made a substitution. Leszek Chwalkiewicz replaced Edmílson Fernandez. The wind increased when Ernie Kenney made the kick off in the second half. Fernando Felo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aírton Sousa in the 53rd minute of the match. When Pedrinho Vasco came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Vascogoianiense FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedrinho Vasco couldn't finish the play. In the 61st minute, Amancio Ourente hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fernando Felo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aírton Sousa went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Celedonio Fenner's late challenge caught a Vascogoianiense FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Celedonio Fenner helped the player get up and apologised. Celedonio Fenner hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Fernando Felo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matheus Neto, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. RKO AFC's Ernie Kenney got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vascogoianiense FC's Válbson Pontes was substituted for Baldomero Gipuzkoa. Fernando Felo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aírton Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Pirani in the 80th minute of play forced RKO AFC's goalkeeper Fernando Felo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 80 played minutes Vascogoianiense FC got a freekick which was hit by Leszek Chwalkiewicz. Fernando Felo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Válbson Pontes, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. RKO AFC's Fernando Felo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aírton Sousa in the 87th minute of play. Vascogoianiense FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
