In the 4th match minute, Vila Zumbi - Férias was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geovanildo Cannavaro to maneuver through the defense. Dino Netto hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Fernando Luz in the 9th minute of play forced Vila Zumbi - Férias's goalkeeper Geovanildo Mendi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Claudinei Sabóia during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 11 minutes of play, Vila Zumbi - Férias's Magno Moreira made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Agnaldo Tinoco was left in no man's land by his defense there! Claudinho Bezerra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Magno Moreira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vila Zumbi - Férias's supporters rose to their feet, but Magno Moreira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Agnaldo Tinoco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 37th minute Carlos Fernando Luz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovanildo Mendi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Agnaldo Tinoco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elano Coutinho in the 43rd minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Magno Moreira made the kick off in the second half. Elano Coutinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agnaldo Tinoco having to interfere. Claudinho Bezerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geovanildo Mendi having to interfere. Dino Netto's late challenge caught a Merusca F&P's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dino Netto helped the player get up and apologised. Dino Netto kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. 68 minutes into the match, Claudinho Bezerra notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Vila Zumbi - Férias's Geovanildo Mendi. Geovanildo Mendi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vila Zumbi - Férias's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Merusca F&P the free kick. The supporters of Merusca F&P booed when Vila Zumbi - Férias was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geovanildo Cannavaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Geovanildo Mendi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinho Bezerra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 93rd minute, Tiago Gabriel Gaspar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Merusca F&P players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
