An unexpectedly hard shot by Remo Goiano in the 5th minute of play forced C.F Intercity's goalkeeper Baleren Ocaña to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 7th minute, Remo Goiano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Baleren Ocaña was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. When XV de Piracicaba's Remo Goiano in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye C.F Intercity's goalie prevented a goal. In the 11th minute, Remo Goiano made a precise shot to the right of Baleren Ocaña. After a defensive mix-up in C.F Intercity's zone, Remo Goiano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baleren Ocaña came out of the goal and Remo Goiano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, C.F Intercity's Matt Le Tissier got a free kick in the 25th minute. Vincente Marcilla hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After 34 played minutes C.F Intercity got a freekick which was hit by Xano Belalcaraz. C.F Intercity's Baleren Ocaña played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinho Arantes in the 35th minute of play. In the 38th minute, C.F Intercity's Matt Le Tissier dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. In the 42nd minute, Toninho Galvão made a precise shot to the right of Baleren Ocaña. C.F Intercity's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. Baleren Ocaña made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudinho Arantes in the 45th minute of play. The C.F Intercity players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. XV de Piracicaba were winning 1-3.

C.F Intercity made a substitution. Galindo Macho replaced Connor MacLeod. C.F Intercity's Ekain Bajo was substituted for Fernan Crespo. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Claudinho Arantes made a kick off. Otávio Toscano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xano Belalcaraz in the 53rd minute of the match. Otávio Toscano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matt Le Tissier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Otávio Toscano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jon-Andoni Goicoechea in the 62nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in XV de Piracicaba's zone, Jon-Andoni Goicoechea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Otávio Toscano came out of the goal and Jon-Andoni Goicoechea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eurico Novaes kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Otávio Toscano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jon-Andoni Goicoechea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. XV de Piracicaba's Otávio Toscano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jon-Andoni Goicoechea in the 80th minute of play. Otávio Toscano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matt Le Tissier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 85 minutes into the match, XV de Piracicaba's goal looked a bit too open when Matt Le Tissier came free, but Otávio Toscano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Matt Le Tissier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. XV de Piracicaba walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
