Vito Soeiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 2nd minute of the match, but Niceto Darien made a huge save. In the 2nd minute, Santo Amaro AC's Vito Soeiro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Niceto Darien. Niceto Darien yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. A collision led to Santo Amaro AC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Duarte Maia hit a great ball. Maximo Santiago received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Acácio Cabral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Diguinho Ortiz's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Niceto Darien firmly grabbed it by the left post. Delmiro Patrido hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. 14 minutes into the match, Diego Berenguer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Acácio Cabral. Santo Amaro AC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Diego Berenguer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Dorian de Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niceto Darien having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Santo Amaro AC's Ricardinho Montenegro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Niceto Darien. Niceto Darien yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Diguinho Ortiz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Niceto Darien made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maximo Santiago during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Acácio Cabral didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Froilan Rufo went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Maximo Santiago blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Acácio Cabral having to make a save. Santo Amaro AC's Acácio Cabral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Berenguer in the 37th minute of play. Maximo Santiago recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Niceto Darien made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Ricardinho Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. 45 minutes into the game, Júnior Capixaba was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Santo Amaro AC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Los Patanes the free kick. Delmiro Patrido didn't quite understand what happened when in the 46 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Diguinho Ortiz was the one to do the kick off. Jean Arantes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niceto Darien having to interfere. Acácio Cabral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Froilan Rufo, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. 56 minutes into the game, Diguinho Ortiz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Niceto Darien was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Niceto Darien made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diguinho Ortiz in the 61st minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Froilan Rufo during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Los Patanes's Froilan Rufo got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute Vito Soeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niceto Darien saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Diguinho Ortiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 67th minute, Fulgencio Charro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Diego Berenguer came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Los Patanes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diego Berenguer couldn't finish the play. In the 78th match minute, Santo Amaro AC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edu de Moraes to maneuver through the defense. 81 minutes into the match, Santo Amaro AC's Vito Soeiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Niceto Darien narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Diego Berenguer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Acácio Cabral having to make a save. Vito Soeiro took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Niceto Darien. Niceto Darien dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. Santo Amaro AC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
