The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The crowd rose to their feet as Justo Pepillo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lucas Bastia. That made the score 1-0 in the 14 minute of play. Erasmo Orlondo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Virgilio Pacifico tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Red Bull Crystallis booed when Patricio Rey Futbol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saturnino Harri didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patricio Rey Futbol Club were awarded a corner in the 24th minute after Red Bull Crystallis's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Justo Pepillo took the corner. In the 26th minute Justo Pepillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucas Bastia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Virgilio Pacifico showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erasmo Orlondo in the 29th minute of the match. A collision led to Red Bull Crystallis getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Silvio Isias hit a great ball. Justo Pepillo got in the 33rd minute the ball and tried a long shot which scored to the left of Lucas Bastia and thus it was 2-0. In the 38th minute, Yağızhan Yurdaşen reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Lucas Bastia. The goal made the score 3-0. Lucas Bastia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcos Martino in the 44th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Justo Pepillo during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Patricio Rey Futbol Club's Justo Pepillo got a free kick in the 47th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Lucas Bastia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 78th minute, Justo Pepillo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 79th match minute, Patricio Rey Futbol Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcos Martino to maneuver through the defense.
