Delfim Vilas Boas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vasko Mirkov, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. If Carlos Castelo Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 40 minutes in the game Alexey Torbov did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Denislav Dushkin. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lázaro Oliveira in the 46th minute of play forced SPARROWS's goalkeeper Biser Danailov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After having played for 60 minutes, Lázaro Oliveira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MZ Fénix's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lázaro Oliveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 72nd minute, Mario Karushev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 95 played minutes, SPARROWS's Velko Yavrukov shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Delfim Vilas Boas came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SPARROWS reached it. After 95 played minutes SPARROWS got a freekick which was hit by Alexey Torbov. MZ Fénix played a much better game than SPARROWS and deserved their victory. The SPARROWS players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
