The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Orlando Gatti came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by F.Salgado F.C.'s Luiz Fábio Schmidt. But to his dismay, Luiz Fábio Schmidt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. F.Salgado F.C.'s Teodoro Moreno got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Orlando Gatti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Fábio Schmidt in the 26th minute of play. When Teodoro Moreno came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the F.Salgado F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teodoro Moreno couldn't finish the play. Matt Ryan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eulalio Abaunza went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Teodoro Moreno's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Orlando Gatti read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. In the 44th minute Teodoro Moreno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orlando Gatti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teodoro Moreno stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. F.Salgado F.C.'s Matt Ryan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wincent Starogardzki in the 57th minute of play. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 68th minute Anselmo Acevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matt Ryan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
