After 2 played minutes Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Fernandinho Goiano. When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Adrianinho de Salles sped through Compostela FSCMZ's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Almir Faria. When Deivid Ferraz came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Compostela FSCMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Deivid Ferraz couldn't finish the play. Marcel Meireles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos da Costa in the 10th minute of play. The Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ fans' excitement grew in the 15th match minute when Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Adrianinho de Salles looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a defensive mix-up in Compostela FSCMZ's zone, Fernandinho Goiano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Almir Faria came out of the goal and Fernandinho Goiano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ booed when Compostela FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evandro Bastos didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Compostela FSCMZ defense, Fernandinho Goiano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Almir Faria. The Compostela FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Almir Faria should have stopped the shot. In the 31st match minute, Compostela FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evandro Bastos to maneuver through the defense. Marcel Meireles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Deivid Ferraz, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. 41 minutes into the match, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's goalkeeper Marcel Meireles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilmar Paes. After the first half Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Deivid Ferraz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Adrianinho de Salles slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Almir Faria. That made the score 0-4 after 52 minutes of play. In the 57th minute, Dorival Sanches hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Richard Quintal charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Richard Quintal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Richard Quintal kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Adrianinho de Salles hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. In the 78th minute of the match Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ got a corner. Compostela FSCMZ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Flavinho Toscano ran over to the corner to take the kick. Flavinho Toscano made a great header on Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's corner, it was just that Compostela FSCMZ's Almir Faria managed to reach the ball for a save. Evandro Bastos was shown his second yellow card after 79 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Evandro Bastos kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Marcel Meireles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cesinha Paraense, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. A collision led to Compostela FSCMZ getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Amadeu Munhoz hit a great ball. With his leg Almir Faria managed to avoid a goal in the 95thth minute, when Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Adrianinho de Salles fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ played a much better game than Compostela FSCMZ and deserved their victory. The Compostela FSCMZ players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
