Edvaldo Brasil showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diego Belém, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Sandinense ADF's Burak Özdoğan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edvaldo Brasil narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of SAS booed when Sandinense ADF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Murilo Pain didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 20 minutes, Agostinho Carneiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Edvaldo Brasil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raimundo Guimarães in the 30th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, Sandrinho Valle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Edgar Salles made the kick off in the second half. Edvaldo Brasil didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Raimundo Guimarães went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. If Burak Özdoğan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Burak Özdoğan took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edvaldo Brasil. Edvaldo Brasil dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-7.
