Spectators: 144 (Terracing: 109, Seating: 33, VIP seats: 2) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Tiburcio Madaleno got the match started through his kick off. With his leg Marcelo Vidal managed to avoid a goal in the 4thth minute, when Arribeños Sur's Tiburcio Madaleno fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 5 minutes into the game, Paulo Emmanuel recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcelo Vidal. Paulo Emmanuel showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Venancio Aimar, 10 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 13 minutes into the match, Vasco Mineiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Emmanuel came free, but Marcelo Vidal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute, Tiburcio Madaleno got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 22 minutes, Tiburcio Madaleno managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arribeños Sur's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tiburcio Madaleno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 23rd match minute, Vasco Mineiro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Willian Proença to maneuver through the defense. Marcelo Vidal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiburcio Madaleno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vasco Mineiro FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Paulo Emmanuel 27 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. 33 minutes into the match, Tiburcio Madaleno had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcelo Vidal. Vasco Mineiro FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tiburcio Madaleno was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tiburcio Madaleno got free with Marcelo Vidal in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marcos Marquez hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. André Luiz Pernambucano was the one to do the kick off. Tiburcio Madaleno took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcelo Vidal. Marcelo Vidal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. 60 minutes into the game, Paulo Emmanuel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Marcelo Vidal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Leo Tono showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Furlan in the 64th minute of the match. André Luiz Pernambucano's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 66thth minute, Leo Tono skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a rather tough play, Arribeños Sur's Evelio Eneas got a free kick in the 68th minute. When Gustavo Capixaba was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 73 minutes had been played. Gustavo Capixaba kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Willian Proença hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Arribeños Sur's zone, Antônio Nascimento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leo Tono came out of the goal and Antônio Nascimento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Marquez in the 86th minute of play forced Vasco Mineiro FC's goalkeeper Marcelo Vidal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute Arribeños Sur were awarded a corner. Venancio Aimar went to the cornerflag to take it. Vasco Mineiro FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
