In the 16thth minute of the game Andy Neeskens who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Concepcion's Diego Ferdinand was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Diego Ferdinand stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andy Neeskens's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. 19 minutes into the game, Rigoberto Montes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Concepcion's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave VC Duisburg 2012 the free kick. Rigoberto Montes hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Concepcion's Diego Ferdinand tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. André Luiz Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reynaldo Eli in the 38th minute of play. A collision led to Concepcion getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. David Pierres hit a great ball. In the 42nd minute Carel Kik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Ferdinand saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emiliano Loiacono hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

VC Duisburg 2012's André Luiz Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evaristo Bernaldo in the 65th minute of play.
