Mapaches's Julius Muhoho got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 22 minutes into the game, Fazul Dawkins was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mapaches's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rio de Janeiro F.C. the free kick. Fazul Dawkins hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Julius Muhoho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicolas Mota having to interfere. After 32 played minutes Mapaches got a freekick which was hit by Charilaos Katsourinis. Nicolas Mota showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julius Muhoho, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After 42 played minutes Rio de Janeiro F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Chiquinho Teles. In the 43rd minute, Levi Vinii got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julius Muhoho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mapaches's 齐亮伟 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amadeu Maia in the 57th minute of play. If Sheelagh Roy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 63rd minute, Julius Muhoho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. During the 66th minute of the match Fazul Dawkins completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Fazul Dawkins a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 69th minute Amadeu Maia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 齐亮伟 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Mapaches's goal looked a bit too open when Amadeu Maia came free, but 齐亮伟 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Mapaches booed when Rio de Janeiro F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Virgílio Montenegro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rio de Janeiro F.C.'s supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
