Attard Gunners's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Nathan Baldacchino in the 4th minute. It was a well-played corner which Michael Testaferrata Olivier managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Anastasios Perakis charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anastasios Perakis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 7 played minutes Olympiacos FC got a freekick which was hit by Anastasios Perakis. With a little luck, Olympiacos FC's Andreas Kousoulakis got control of the ball when Michael Testaferrata Olivier tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 14thth minute of the game Paschalis Stavrakos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Attard Gunners's Amadeo Rapinett was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 16 played minutes Attard Gunners got a freekick which was hit by Andrew Cuschieri. Paschalis Stavrakos scored 0-2 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amadeo Rapinett, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Paschalis Stavrakos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 29 minutes into the match, Attard Gunners's goal looked a bit too open when Paschalis Stavrakos came free, but Amadeo Rapinett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amadeo Rapinett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paschalis Stavrakos in the 32nd minute of the match. Andreas Kousoulakis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrick Izzo, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Olympiacos FC were awarded a corner in the 38th minute after Attard Gunners's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Xosé Lim took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Xosé Lim got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Amadeo Rapinett quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 47 minutes into the match, Michael Testaferrata Olivier had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Andreas Kousoulakis. Olympiacos FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Michael Testaferrata Olivier was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Paschalis Stavrakos made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute Thomas Zrinzo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andreas Kousoulakis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Panos Ntountas charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Panos Ntountas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Panos Ntountas hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. 63 minutes had been played when some careless play by Olympiacos FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Nathan Baldacchino was slow to take the kick. During this time Attard Gunners's players had a chance to rest. Attard Gunners's Thomas Zrinzo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Andreas Kousoulakis in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Soulis Partalis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paschalis Stavrakos in the 69thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Amadeo Rapinett, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Michael Testaferrata Olivier charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Michael Testaferrata Olivier the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Soulis Partalis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Amadeo Rapinett having to make a save. The Olympiacos FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Olympiacos FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
