The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Juan Hvalica fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Javier Garcia having to interfere. Javier Garcia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexis Santos in the 12th minute of play. A collision led to C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Margarito Lila hit a great ball. Javier Garcia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jimeno Feo in the 15th minute of the match. After 16 played minutes C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA got a freekick which was hit by Damian Nabar. 18 minutes into the match, C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA's goal looked a bit too open when Jimeno Feo came free, but Javier Garcia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jimeno Feo in the 18th minute of play forced C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA's goalkeeper Javier Garcia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Javier Garcia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jimeno Feo, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 24th minute, C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA's Clemente Cayo seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Clemente Cayo the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Clemente Cayo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 23 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA! When Damian Nabar fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA's protests and gave Damian Nabar a yellow card for diving instead. Damian Nabar kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA's Javier Garcia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jimeno Feo in the 33rd minute of play. Jimeno Feo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Javier Garcia having to make a save. In the 36th minute, Damian Nabar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA's Javier Garcia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Hvalica in the 42nd minute of play. Club Deportivo Álvarez's Ildefonso Fix got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Teofilo Quintyn made the kick off in the second half. Osvaldo Oihan hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. A hard shot 54 in the game by Modesto Ricart from a close distance when the talented Javier Garcia managed to make a qualified save. C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA's players were relieved. 55 minutes into the game, Club Deportivo Álvarez's Juan Hvalica nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Javier Garcia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. With a little luck, C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA's Javier Garcia got control of the ball when Modesto Ricart tried to sneak it across the goal line. Javier Garcia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan Hvalica in the 60th minute of the match. A collision led to Club Deportivo Álvarez getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Ildefonso Fix hit a great ball. After 65 minutes, Teofilo Quintyn mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA and the Club Deportivo Álvarez players grew even worse after the yellow card. Club Deportivo Álvarez's Teo Valente was substituted for Miguel Ángel Hvalica. In the 66th match minute, C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teofilo Quintyn to maneuver through the defense. Javier Garcia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan Hvalica, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. 70 minutes had been played when some careless play by C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Modesto Ricart was slow to take the kick. During this time Club Deportivo Álvarez's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Club Deportivo Álvarez's corner Modesto Ricart fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Javier Garcia quite easily take care of the ball. Modesto Ricart recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 74th minute, Juan Hvalica hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 79 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Álvarez's goal looked a bit too open when Damian Tulio came free, but Apolo Munio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Ildefonso Fix could shoot a difficult shot in the 83rd minute, which Javier Garcia however easily saved by the left post. 85 minutes into the match, Alexis Santos dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Javier Garcia, 0-2. Club Deportivo Álvarez's Albano Gumaro was substituted for Modesto Ricart. After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo Álvarez's Teo Valente got a free kick in the 92nd minute. The supporters of C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA booed when Club Deportivo Álvarez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rosendo Soter didn't get a good kick on the ball.
