Pacorro Zugasti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abner Orden in the 2nd minute of the match. Aníbal Albarran made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zdzislaw Literski in the 4th minute. Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's Jaime Hori got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgardo Garzo in the 8th minute of play forced Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's goalkeeper Pacorro Zugasti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Braian Rodríguez during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 9th minute, Braian Rodríguez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luis Angel Budinich received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Pacorro Zugasti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abner Orden in the 16th minute of play forced Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's goalkeeper Pacorro Zugasti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Deportivo Peñarol FIFV defense, Luis Angel Budinich kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pacorro Zugasti. The Deportivo Peñarol FIFV fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pacorro Zugasti should have stopped the shot. Pacorro Zugasti stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edgardo Garzo's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. Jusepe Catalan kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Pacorro Zugasti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ondino Casanova, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. With a little luck, Club Deportes La Serena's Aníbal Albarran got control of the ball when Zdzislaw Literski tried to sneak it across the goal line. Club Deportes La Serena's Aníbal Albarran proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Club Deportes La Serena from getting a goal against them. After the first half Club Deportes La Serena were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edgardo Garzo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice moves Edgardo Garzo could shoot a difficult shot in the 58th minute, which Pacorro Zugasti however easily saved by the left post. Pacorro Zugasti came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Deportes La Serena's Edgardo Garzo. But to his dismay, Edgardo Garzo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Club Deportes La Serena made a substitution. Isaiás Bourchier replaced Luis Angel Budinich. Jaime Hori hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's Jaime Hori got a free kick in the 72nd minute. The supporters of Deportivo Peñarol FIFV booed when Club Deportes La Serena was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victorino Cifuentes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79th minute Ubaldo Matildo Orella shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pacorro Zugasti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Club Deportes La Serena's zone, Zdzislaw Literski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aníbal Albarran came out of the goal and Zdzislaw Literski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 86 minutes of play, Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's Braian Rodríguez made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aníbal Albarran was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 90th minute of the match Ondino Casanova shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pacorro Zugasti showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 91 minutes into the game, one of Club Deportes La Serena:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Edgardo Garzo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 96thth minute tested the skills of Pacorro Zugasti when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Club Deportes La Serena's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
