Sport Açores e Benfica's Sérgio Viegas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ander Aguado in the 5th minute of play. After 6 played minutes Sport Açores e Benfica got a freekick which was hit by Horácio Boaventura. The crowd rose to their feet as Gervásio Vilhena kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ofelio Estrada. That made the score 1-0 in the 11 minute of play. In the 13th minute, Sport Açores e Benfica's Gervásio Vilhena ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ofelio Estrada. Ofelio Estrada yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. After having played for 19 minutes, Ander Aguado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ReyPoxo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ander Aguado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 23 minutes into the match, Sport Açores e Benfica's goal looked a bit too open when Ander Aguado came free, but Sérgio Viegas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Andrés Olmos managed to get in a good position for a shot. ReyPoxo's supporters rose to their feet, but Andrés Olmos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sérgio Viegas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Darien Bernal hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

In the 54th match minute, ReyPoxo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrés Olmos to maneuver through the defense. In the 60th minute, David Soveral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 65th minute, Andrés Olmos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 68 minutes into the match, Ander Aguado had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sérgio Viegas. Sport Açores e Benfica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ander Aguado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. David Soveral charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed David Soveral the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 73rd minute, David Soveral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 76th minute ReyPoxo were awarded a corner. Sotero Orozco went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Amaro De Pablo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sport Açores e Benfica's Sérgio Viegas did a great save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers David Soveral in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ofelio Estrada saved ReyPoxo from getting behind. Sérgio Viegas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ander Aguado in the 87th minute. Ofelio Estrada made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Soveral in the 89th minute of play. Ander Aguado struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Sérgio Viegas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ReyPoxo. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sport Açores e Benfica fans cheered their team off the field, for while ReyPoxo had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
