Folke Österlund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 5 minutes into the game, Dudu Borges was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Catugi FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Werneck FC - DMZ the free kick. Dudu Borges kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Délio Fantini was a little too slow when Dudu Borges got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 8th minute. The score was now 1-0. Hernani Travassos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Délio Fantini came out and tried to block the shot, but Hernani Travassos slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 11th minute. Délio Fantini made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Hernani Travassos sent off a good shot on target. In the 24th minute, Catugi FC's Dudu Borges dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. Werneck FC - DMZ's Délio Fantini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dudu Borges in the 32nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Catugi FC's Luiz Fernando Abraão got a free kick in the 36th minute. In the 38th minute, Hernani Travassos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Catugi FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Werneck FC - DMZ's Délio Fantini proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Werneck FC - DMZ from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Catugi FC's Dudu Borges got a free kick in the 47th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dudu Borges stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Jean Donatello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 54 minutes, Hernani Travassos made it 5-0 with a short kick to the right side. Werneck FC - DMZ's Délio Fantini tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Délio Fantini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hernani Travassos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 59th minute, Tiaguinho Fernandez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Délio Fantini didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luiz Fernando Abraão went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. Luiz Fernando Abraão's late challenge caught a Werneck FC - DMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luiz Fernando Abraão helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Werneck FC - DMZ booed when Catugi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fernando Abraão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Augusto Mello scored 6-1 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Folke Österlund, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Aílton Domingues was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 90 minutes into the match. 90 minutes into the game, one of Catugi FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 97th minute, Reginaldo Veiga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There was no doubt that Catugi FC were the better team. Catugi FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
