Claudinei Tasso started the match with the kick off. Zézinho Rossi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Roger Leão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Zézinho Rossi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Roger Leão was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. When Claudinei Tasso came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the 27 de Mayo fans jumped to their feet. After 29 minutes of play, 27 de Mayo's Zézinho Rossi made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Roger Leão was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 36 minutes, Ernani Vargas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the 27 de Mayo and the Rezende FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. 40 minutes into the game, 27 de Mayo's Zézinho Rossi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Roger Leão made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. 27 de Mayo's Ernani Vargas got his second yellow card of the match in the 46th minute. The referee ordered Ernani Vargas off the ground. In the 46th match minute, 27 de Mayo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernani Vargas to maneuver through the defense.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dorian Braga to make the kick off. The supporters of 27 de Mayo booed when Rezende FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Fábio Mello didn't get a good kick on the ball. 73 minutes into the game, Dorian Braga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Rogério Soberano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 82 minutes into the match, Dorian Braga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rogério Soberano. 27 de Mayo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dorian Braga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-5. In the 85th minute Dorian Braga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogério Soberano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roger Leão was out of position in the 86 minute of play, and Ponce Cruzado capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ponce Cruzado really showed his touch with that goal: 2-6. Roger Leão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Erramu Chute in the 89th minute. 91 minutes into the game, Rezende FC's Dorian Braga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rogério Soberano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-6. After a rather tough play, Rezende FC's Luiz Paulo Velasco got a free kick in the 93rd minute. After having played for 95 minutes, Erramu Chute managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 27 de Mayo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erramu Chute was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
