With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leontin Răuțchi in the 2nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Avram Seremet saved Stiinta-Univ. from getting behind. In the 7th minute Iosif Nicolae shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Avram Seremet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sabin Dinescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matei Onaca in the 9th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, A4p Dejani's Ionică Zbughină got a free kick in the 9th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sabin Asachi during the 11th minute. After 18 minutes, Traian Pivniceru mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Stiinta-Univ. and the A4p Dejani players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Traian Lupescu in the 34th minute of play forced A4p Dejani's goalkeeper Sabin Dinescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stiinta-Univ.'s Avram Seremet proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Stiinta-Univ. from getting a goal against them. The supporters of A4p Dejani booed when Stiinta-Univ. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Burdujan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stiinta-Univ.'s Matei Onaca got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A4p Dejani's Sabin Dinescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matei Onaca in the 43rd minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
