After 4 minutes, Tales Valladares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GeRaÇãO-83 and the FÊNIX F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Leopoldo Linares hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in GeRaÇãO-83's zone, Percival Cunha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruninho Leite came out of the goal and Percival Cunha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to GeRaÇãO-83 getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Tales Valladares hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, GeRaÇãO-83's Anselmo Baptista got a free kick in the 32nd minute. The supporters of FÊNIX F.C. booed when GeRaÇãO-83 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anselmo Baptista didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th minute, Yan Salles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd minute Jano Sabóia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruninho Leite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Percival Cunha kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. In the 48th match minute, GeRaÇãO-83 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leopoldo Linares to maneuver through the defense.

FÊNIX F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Waldir Brito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luisinho Goiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otávio da Mata having to interfere. Bruninho Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Waldir Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. After 73 minutes, Leopoldo Linares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GeRaÇãO-83 and the FÊNIX F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 73 played minutes GeRaÇãO-83 got a freekick which was hit by Leopoldo Linares. If Jano Sabóia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of FÊNIX F.C. booed when GeRaÇãO-83 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position.
