After a defensive mix-up in Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's zone, Chicão Freire stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcel Meireles came out of the goal and Chicão Freire tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, A A Arizona's Mazinho Godoi got a free kick in the 13th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Adrianinho de Salles had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rodolfo Siqueira. A A Arizona's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adrianinho de Salles was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 17th match minute, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Moraes to maneuver through the defense. A A Arizona's Rodolfo Siqueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michel Varela in the 19th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's zone, Chicão Freire stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcel Meireles came out of the goal and Chicão Freire tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to A A Arizona getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Mazinho Godoi hit a great ball. Rodolfo Siqueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavinho Toscano, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Manuel Monteiro during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 31st minute, Manuel Monteiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 31st minute of the match Flavinho Toscano shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rodolfo Siqueira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hélder Pinho to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Fernandinho Goiano got a free kick in the 52nd minute. After 54 minutes of play, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Adrianinho de Salles made it 1-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rodolfo Siqueira was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 56 minutes, Fernandinho Goiano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fernandinho Goiano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 60 minutes into the game, A A Arizona's Mazinho Godoi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcel Meireles made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-6. After 63 played minutes Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Adrianinho de Salles. After 68 minutes of play, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Michel Varela made it 2-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rodolfo Siqueira was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rodolfo Siqueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernandinho Goiano in the 74th minute of play. Michel Varela might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rodolfo Siqueira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Michel Varela ran back to his position shaking his head. 76 minutes into the game, Genílson Quintal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave A A Arizona the free kick. Hélder Pinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hélder Pinho scored 3-7 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcel Meireles, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 88th match minute, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Gonçalves to maneuver through the defense. When A A Arizona's Mazinho Godoi in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's goalie prevented a goal. 93 minutes into the game, Adrianinho de Salles cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-8. Rodolfo Siqueira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Fernandinho Goiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ played a much better game than A A Arizona and deserved their victory. The A A Arizona players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
