In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gralau's goalkeeper Erik Langbråten, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 9 minutes into the match, Águilas Poblanas's goal looked a bit too open when Hipolito Paz came free, but Oswaldo Murillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute, Jacinto Galeno ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Erik Langbråten was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Arnulfo Tebaldo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Águilas Poblanas's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnulfo Tebaldo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erik Langbråten breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jacinto Galeno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Erik Langbråten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacinto Galeno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erik Langbråten didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jacinto Galeno went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 33rd minute, Jacinto Galeno left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Águilas Poblanas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Erik Langbråten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacinto Galeno, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. 37 minutes into the match, Gralau's goal looked a bit too open when Jacinto Galeno came free, but Erik Langbråten reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gralau's Erik Langbråten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto Galeno in the 39th minute of play. In the 46th minute Hipolito Paz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oswaldo Murillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Águilas Poblanas were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jacinto Galeno made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Águilas Poblanas's goal looked a bit too open when Hipolito Paz came free, but Oswaldo Murillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Águilas Poblanas's Jacinto Galeno slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Erik Langbråten. That made the score 0-4 after 58 minutes of play. In the 63rd minute Hipolito Paz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oswaldo Murillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, Águilas Poblanas's goal looked a bit too open when Hipolito Paz came free, but Oswaldo Murillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oswaldo Murillo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hipolito Paz in the 75th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Vitório Bittencourt sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Águilas Poblanas's Oswaldo Murillo didn't even have to move. After 79 played minutes Águilas Poblanas got a freekick which was hit by Lucjan Gollob. In the 88th minute Eusebio Beltran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erik Langbråten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eusebio Beltran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erik Langbråten having to interfere. Although Gralau had been in control for most of the match, Águilas Poblanas still came away with the win.
