An unexpectedly hard shot by Amancio Mitxel in the 18th minute of play forced SAS's goalkeeper Edvaldo Brasil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edvaldo Brasil showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Genílson Peixoto, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. A collision led to SAS getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Agostinho Carneiro hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute Genílson Peixoto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvaldo Brasil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SAS's Edvaldo Brasil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Genílson Peixoto in the 26th minute of play. Edvaldo Brasil stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amancio Mitxel's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. 31 minutes into the game, Olívio Marques was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SAS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Beto Martini MZ 20 years the free kick. Edvaldo Brasil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Genílson Peixoto in the 32nd minute of play. After some careless play in the SAS defense, Amancio Mitxel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edvaldo Brasil. The SAS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edvaldo Brasil should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Beto Martini MZ 20 years booed when SAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Guilherme Paraense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elano Severo succeeded in the game's 47th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Amancio Mitxel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Genílson Peixoto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvaldo Brasil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner ended in Renato Pereira almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but SAS's Edvaldo Brasil did a great save. In the 66th minute of the match Beto Martini MZ 20 years got a corner. SAS's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Elano Severo ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Elano Severo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Edvaldo Brasil quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a little luck, SAS's Edvaldo Brasil got control of the ball when Amancio Mitxel tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the SAS defense, Elano Severo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edvaldo Brasil. The SAS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edvaldo Brasil should have stopped the shot. When Lauro Zanette came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the SAS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lauro Zanette couldn't finish the play. SAS were furious when Glauco Baiano was red carded, 87 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Marciano Vedillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edvaldo Brasil having to interfere. Edvaldo Brasil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Genílson Peixoto in the 93rd minute of the match. After 96 played minutes SAS got a freekick which was hit by Edgar Salles.
