In the 20th minute, Artemio Malvin made a precise shot to the right of Afonso Romero. Icoara Football Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. The supporters of C.A.Esparta booed when Icoara Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardinho Perez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd minute Mauro Astudillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Romero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dário de Godoi kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Afonso Romero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carolo Solustiano in the 36th minute of the match. In the 39th minute, Carolo Solustiano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The C.A.Esparta fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Astudillo in the 43rd minute of play forced Icoara Football Club's goalkeeper Afonso Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute, Bernardinho Perez fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Silverio Cordara, passed just outside the right post. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Carolo Solustiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The crowd rose to their feet as Rafael Calisto kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Afonso Romero. That made the score 0-5 in the 62 minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, Rafael Calisto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Afonso Romero. Icoara Football Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rafael Calisto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. Afonso Romero was out of position in the 71 minute of play, and Rafael Calisto capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Rafael Calisto really showed his touch with that goal: 0-7. Afonso Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Calisto in the 84th minute of play. Mauro Astudillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Afonso Romero made a huge save. The supporters of C.A.Esparta booed when Icoara Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dário de Godoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rafael Calisto scored 0-8 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Afonso Romero, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
