The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jerry Verengen struck a weak shot in the 2nd minute. Santiago Caldeira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Klavertje Vier. Coimbra FC's Santiago Caldeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ron Everaerts in the 7th minute of play. Santiago Caldeira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tommas Bosbeeck went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Santiago Caldeira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anton Van Goethem went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lars De Kerpel in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Santiago Caldeira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 22 minutes, Tommas Bosbeeck mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Klavertje Vier and the Coimbra FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Coimbra FC booed when FC Klavertje Vier was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ron Everaerts didn't get a good kick on the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Coimbra FC's goal looked a bit too open when Anton Van Goethem came free, but Santiago Caldeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elias Veiga kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Santiago Caldeira came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Klavertje Vier's Lars De Kerpel. But to his dismay, Lars De Kerpel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. After some careless play in the Coimbra FC defense, Ron Everaerts kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Santiago Caldeira. The Coimbra FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Santiago Caldeira should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anton Van Goethem made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, FC Klavertje Vier's Anton Van Goethem ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Santiago Caldeira. Santiago Caldeira yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-6. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by David Van den Gans during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. David Van den Gans kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Gerrit Van Boeckost took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Baptista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Santiago Caldeira was a little too slow when Anton Van Goethem got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 63rd minute. The score was now 0-7. In the 67th minute, Jerry Verengen reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Santiago Caldeira. The goal made the score 0-8. Santiago Caldeira made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Ron Everaerts sent off a good shot on target. 71 minutes into the match, Jerry Verengen dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Santiago Caldeira, 0-9. When Moisés Ramires fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Coimbra FC's protests and gave Moisés Ramires a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of FC Klavertje Vier booed when Coimbra FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moisés Ramires didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Coimbra FC's Pedro Baptista got a free kick in the 77th minute. Santiago Caldeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerry Verengen, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Coimbra FC's Moisés Ramires got his second yellow card of the match in the 81st minute. The referee ordered Moisés Ramires off the ground. In the 87th minute, Henrik Huyberechts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 89 minutes into the match, Coimbra FC's goalkeeper Santiago Caldeira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lars De Kerpel. Vasco Cordeiro charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vasco Cordeiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 94th minute, Vasco Cordeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC Klavertje Vier played a much better game than Coimbra FC and deserved their victory. The Coimbra FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
