The referee ignored Aracoiaba's protests and gave Josué Miranda a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Aracoiaba getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Josué Miranda hit a great ball. After 17 played minutes Formigueiro got a freekick which was hit by Reinaldo Costa. Frederico Massa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Reinaldo Costa got his second yellow card in the match during the 24th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Reinaldo Costa hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Ramiro Matorin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vítor Netto in the 31st minute of the match. Formigueiro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Aracoiaba the free kick. In the 85th match minute, Formigueiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edmílson Porto to maneuver through the defense.
