David Bertassi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nilmar Quirino charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nilmar Quirino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a defensive mix-up in P.S.oyroine's zone, José Paulo de Almeida stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Breno Gerber came out of the goal and José Paulo de Almeida tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 18th match minute, Arari was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lúcio de Carvalho to maneuver through the defense. Flávio Salgado, 19 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Breno Gerber showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Paulo de Almeida, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Arari's José Paulo de Almeida got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Túlio Tepedino came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the P.S.oyroine fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Túlio Tepedino couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Paulo de Almeida in the 33rd minute of play forced P.S.oyroine's goalkeeper Breno Gerber to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute, Duda Braga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wiliam Veiga hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Augusto Netto in the 47th minute of play forced P.S.oyroine's goalkeeper Breno Gerber to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and José Paulo de Almeida made a kick off. When the match had gone on for 55 minutes, Carlos Augusto Netto put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Breno Gerber. After having played for 59 minutes, José Paulo de Almeida managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arari's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Paulo de Almeida was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If José Paulo de Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 69 minutes, Carlos Augusto Netto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Arari's goalkeeper David Bertassi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Carlos Augusto Netto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Breno Gerber made a huge save. In the 87th minute Jonas Sá shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Bertassi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 88 minutes into the match, P.S.oyroine's Jonas Sá sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that David Bertassi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The attack was good, but when Túlio Tepedino in the 90th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Carlos Augusto Netto received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Breno Gerber came out and tried to block the shot, but Carlos Augusto Netto slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 95th minute. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
