Spectators: 7274 (Terracing: 5457, Seating: 1673, VIP seats: 144) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Zé Carlos Quaresma started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Uibal EC booed when Monumento Sports was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Fabiano Borges didn't get a good kick on the ball. Waldemar de Moraes, 7 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Dráuzio Carvalho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ronaldinho Botelho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. After 12 played minutes Monumento Sports got a freekick which was hit by Décio Silva. When Cristiano Paraense fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Uibal EC's protests and gave Cristiano Paraense a yellow card for diving instead. 33 minutes into the game, Mauro Ceresso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Monumento Sports's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Uibal EC the free kick. After 37 played minutes Monumento Sports got a freekick which was hit by Décio Silva. Ronaldinho Botelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dráuzio Carvalho in the 38th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Uibal EC's zone, Zé Carlos Quaresma stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amauri Branco came out of the goal and Zé Carlos Quaresma tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 49th minute Uibal EC were awarded a corner. Waldemar de Moraes went to the cornerflag to take it. Uibal EC's Waldemar de Moraes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ronaldinho Botelho in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in.

Teodoro Abraão struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Amauri Branco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Monumento Sports. In the 57th minute, Zé Carlos Quaresma left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Monumento Sports fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After 63 played minutes Monumento Sports got a freekick which was hit by Décio Silva. Uibal EC's Gil Abreu got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 72 minutes into the match, Monumento Sports's goal looked a bit too open when Dráuzio Carvalho came free, but Ronaldinho Botelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Teodoro Abraão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amauri Branco having to interfere. After 80 played minutes Uibal EC got a freekick which was hit by Olívio da Rocha. When Monumento Sports's Teodoro Abraão in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Uibal EC's goalie prevented a goal. Zé Carlos Quaresma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zé Carlos Quaresma recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 98 minutes, Teodoro Abraão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monumento Sports's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teodoro Abraão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Monumento Sports walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
