With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emerson Soares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 38th minute Geraldo Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emerson Soares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emerson Soares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abel do Valle, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Jânio Cerezo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 42nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Emerson Soares. Gameleira A.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
