Matheus Oliveira charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Matheus Oliveira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gramado's Adrianinho Macedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafa Correia in the 34th minute of play. Antônio da Silveira kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Adrianinho Macedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Téo da Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 44 minutes, Rafa Correia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carauari's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rafa Correia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rafa Correia in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adrianinho Macedo saved Gramado from getting behind. In the 46th minute, Antônio da Silveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 47 minutes, Rafa Correia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carauari's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rafa Correia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When Matheus Oliveira was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 53 minutes had been played. Matheus Oliveira hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Celsinho Diniz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeca Paranaense, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romário Lopez in the 59th minute of play forced Carauari's goalkeeper Celsinho Diniz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adrianinho Macedo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. Celsinho Diniz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romário Lopez in the 74th minute of the match. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gramado's goalkeeper Adrianinho Macedo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bernardo Vargas during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Carauari getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Bernardo Vargas hit a great ball. Marcelinho Bezerra hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Carauari walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
