The supporters of XI Campeões booed when Guerra Civil Brasileira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonsinho Cavalcante didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Guerra Civil Brasileira getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Walmir Mattos hit a great ball. After 8 played minutes Guerra Civil Brasileira got a freekick which was hit by Walmir Mattos. Severino Britto struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Chico Saraiva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for XI Campeões. 11 minutes into the match, Samuel Melberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Chico Saraiva. Guerra Civil Brasileira's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Samuel Melberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Chico Saraiva made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Samuel Melberg sent off a good shot on target. When Samuel Melberg came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the XI Campeões fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Samuel Melberg couldn't finish the play. Samuel Melberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Chico Saraiva made a huge save. In the 21st minute, Lucjan Ligas made a precise shot to the right of Chico Saraiva. Guerra Civil Brasileira's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. After having played for 27 minutes, Joaquim Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. XI Campeões's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joaquim Silveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Joaquim Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Joaquim Silveira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Chico Saraiva was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. In the 32nd minute, Joaquim Silveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Augusto de Sena blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alex Toscano having to make a save. Eliseu Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Toscano having to interfere. After 46 played minutes Guerra Civil Brasileira got a freekick which was hit by Walmir Mattos. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Samuel Melberg was the one to do the kick off. If Samuel Melberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Walmir Mattos's late challenge caught a XI Campeões's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Walmir Mattos helped the player get up and apologised. If Lucjan Ligas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Samuel Melberg in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Chico Saraiva saved Guerra Civil Brasileira from getting behind. The XI Campeões fans' excitement grew in the 58th match minute when XI Campeões's Samuel Melberg looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Augusto de Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alex Toscano made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Walmir Mattos sent off a good shot on target. Samuel Melberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chico Saraiva having to interfere. Chico Saraiva didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lucjan Ligas went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. In the 90th minute Lucjan Ligas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chico Saraiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee ended the match the XI Campeões players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
