In the 16th minute, Augusto de Sena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 24 minutes of play, Guerra Civil Brasileira's Eliseu Queiroz made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Noel Soeiro was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Ivo de Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arenal's Noel Soeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augusto de Sena in the 33rd minute of play. Arlindo Saldanha kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Augusto de Sena received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Noel Soeiro came out and tried to block the shot, but Augusto de Sena slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 35th minute. Chico Saraiva didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Célio Leal went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Ivo de Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ivo de Souza was the one to do the kick off. 59 minutes into the game, Ivo de Souza recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Chico Saraiva. Ivo de Souza showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. In the 70th minute, Guerra Civil Brasileira's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Célio Leal fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 75th match minute, Arenal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivo de Souza to maneuver through the defense. Augusto de Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Noel Soeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Célio Leal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chico Saraiva having to interfere. Célio Leal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Chico Saraiva made a huge save. Chico Saraiva was out of position in the 89 minute of play, and Ivo de Souza capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ivo de Souza really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3.
