Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Sérgio Lira started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd match minute, Sergio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edinho Oliveira to maneuver through the defense. When the match clock showed 3 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Artur Peixoto sped through Sergio's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Pedro Augusto Quintal. If Sérgio Lira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 10 minutes into the match, Atletico Grajaú's goal looked a bit too open when Edinho Oliveira came free, but Ciro Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Atletico Grajaú's Ciro Montenegro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Atletico Grajaú from getting a goal against them. 16 minutes into the match, Edinho Oliveira notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Atletico Grajaú's Ciro Montenegro. Alfredinho Miranda kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Manuel Pinho took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 29th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ciro Montenegro. Atletico Grajaú's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, Atletico Grajaú's goal looked a bit too open when Sérgio Lira came free, but Ciro Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Sérgio Lira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ciro Montenegro was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Júlio de Castro to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Edinho Oliveira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sergio's supporters rose to their feet, but Edinho Oliveira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ciro Montenegro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 55thth minute of the game Sérgio Lira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atletico Grajaú's Ciro Montenegro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Pedro Augusto Quintal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júlio de Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Atletico Grajaú's Ciro Montenegro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sérgio Lira in the 60th minute of play. When Flavinho Dante fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atletico Grajaú's protests and gave Flavinho Dante a yellow card for diving instead. If Sérgio Lira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Edinho Oliveira might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ciro Montenegro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edinho Oliveira ran back to his position shaking his head. 69 minutes into the match, Atletico Grajaú's goal looked a bit too open when Sérgio Lira came free, but Ciro Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 69th minute, Genílson Paranaense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 71st minute, Sérgio Lira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sergio fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. In the 76th minute, Edinho Oliveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edinho Oliveira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sérgio Lira in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ciro Montenegro saved Atletico Grajaú from getting behind. In the 88thth minute of the game Sérgio Lira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atletico Grajaú's Ciro Montenegro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 90 minutes into the game, Edinho Oliveira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Ciro Montenegro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ciro Montenegro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edinho Oliveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Sergio had played much better football throughout.
