But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodolfo França couldn't finish the play. If Chico Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Tadeu Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canaa EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tadeu Silva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Toninho Velasco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chico Figueiredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willian Peixoto having to interfere. After 38 played minutes Canaa EC got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Dias. In the 40th minute of the match, Chico Figueiredo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Willian Peixoto saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 41 minutes into the match, Canaa EC's goal looked a bit too open when Chico Figueiredo came free, but Willian Peixoto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chico Figueiredo was the one to do the kick off. Willian Peixoto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chico Figueiredo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58thth minute of the game Chico Figueiredo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Canaa EC's Willian Peixoto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rodolfo França received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Willian Peixoto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Rodolfo França's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Willian Peixoto was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rodolfo França in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Willian Peixoto saved Canaa EC from getting behind. If Rodolfo França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leonardo Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toninho Velasco having to interfere.
