Marcinho de Alcântara came out of the goal and Benjamim da Mata tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luiz Guilherme Gomes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Traipu EC's Marcinho de Alcântara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamim da Mata in the 26th minute of play. Benjamim da Mata struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Marcinho de Alcântara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FENOl FC. Benjamim da Mata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Marcinho de Alcântara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 47 minutes, Benjamim da Mata put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Marcinho de Alcântara. After the first half FENOl FC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Washington Neto kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. 60 minutes into the match, Traipu EC's goalkeeper Marcinho de Alcântara had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Valdo Romero. In the 61st minute FENOl FC were awarded a corner. Valdo Romero went to the cornerflag to take it. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Manuel Vander managed to get in a good position for a shot. FENOl FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Manuel Vander was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
