After a rather tough play, Pontais SC's Luís Lara got a free kick in the 2nd minute. 6 minutes into the match, Corujas Anônimas Voadoras's goal looked a bit too open when Marquinhos Félix came free, but Tomás Veloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 8th match minute, Corujas Anônimas Voadoras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseu de Queirós to maneuver through the defense. 13 minutes into the game, Marquinhos Félix recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tomás Veloso. Marquinhos Félix showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Ronaldinho Pontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Marquinhos Félix took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Tomás Veloso to make any attempt to save it. Sidney Abraão kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. In the 36th play minute Ronaldinho Pontes came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Tomás Veloso. 3-0. The supporters of Corujas Anônimas Voadoras booed when Pontais SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marquinhos Félix didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edu Batista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dráuzio Cabral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ronaldinho Pontes's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Tomás Veloso firmly grabbed it by the left post. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 45th minute of the game. One of Corujas Anônimas Voadoras:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Pontais SC:s goal. Vitinho Pereira shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 52ndth minute of the game Ronaldinho Pontes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Corujas Anônimas Voadoras's Tomás Veloso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Corujas Anônimas Voadoras's zone, Ronaldinho Pontes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomás Veloso came out of the goal and Ronaldinho Pontes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marquinhos Félix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Tomás Veloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 61 minutes into the match, Corujas Anônimas Voadoras's goal looked a bit too open when Marquinhos Félix came free, but Tomás Veloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pontais SC's Luís Lara got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tomás Veloso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marquinhos Félix's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Marquinhos Félix struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Tomás Veloso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pontais SC. Corujas Anônimas Voadoras's Tomás Veloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldinho Pontes in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85th minute, one of Corujas Anônimas Voadoras:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Corujas Anônimas Voadoras. Tomás Veloso had in the 86thth minute some difficulties stopping Vitinho Pereira's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 86th minute, Vitinho Pereira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tomás Veloso was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldinho Pontes in the 91st minute of play forced Corujas Anônimas Voadoras's goalkeeper Tomás Veloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomás Veloso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ronaldinho Pontes went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. 98 minutes into the match, Corujas Anônimas Voadoras's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldinho Pontes came free, but Tomás Veloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pontais SC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
