Sampdor's Breno Cordeiro was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 17th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Asgeir Gjelstad managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sampdor's supporters rose to their feet, but Asgeir Gjelstad was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Álvaro Sá breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Recompensa FC's Murillo Arósio got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 33rd minute João Pedro Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jano Neiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Breno Cordeiro was the one to do the kick off. The Sampdor fans' excitement grew in the 53rd match minute when Sampdor's Breno Cordeiro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. João Pedro Fernandez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jano Neiva having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Sampdor's Luizão Andrade got a free kick in the 70th minute. Sampdor's Breno Cordeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 78th minute, Asgeir Gjelstad ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Álvaro Sá was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. If Ernesto de Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Álvaro Sá showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Asgeir Gjelstad, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Asgeir Gjelstad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Breno Cordeiro in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Álvaro Sá prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Recompensa FC's Álvaro Sá played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Asgeir Gjelstad in the 97th minute of play.
