When Ruperto Rainerio came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the XV de Jaú fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ruperto Rainerio couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dedé Cordeiro during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dedé Cordeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. In the 11th match minute, Trocari was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reinaldo Falcão to maneuver through the defense. Dé Mineiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for XV de Jaú. Nelsinho Schmidt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maurinho Nogueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kaká Arantes, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Nelsinho Schmidt might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dé Mineiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nelsinho Schmidt ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Trocari getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Dedé Cordeiro hit a great ball. Luís Gustavo Botelho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Maurinho Nogueira having to make a save. Nelsinho Schmidt struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Dé Mineiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for XV de Jaú. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nelsinho Schmidt made a kick off. Dé Mineiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nelsinho Schmidt in the 52nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Gustavo Botelho in the 54th minute of play forced XV de Jaú's goalkeeper Maurinho Nogueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nelsinho Schmidt in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dé Mineiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 64 minutes into the match, Kaká Arantes notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of XV de Jaú's Maurinho Nogueira. Maurinho Nogueira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. During the 67th minute of the match Kaká Arantes completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Kaká Arantes a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Trocari getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Arí Mendes hit a great ball. 71 minutes into the match, Clóvis Massa notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Trocari's Dé Mineiro. Dé Mineiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Trocari's zone, Ruperto Rainerio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dé Mineiro came out of the goal and Ruperto Rainerio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When XV de Jaú's Nelsinho Schmidt in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The Trocari fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Cristiano Peixoto charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristiano Peixoto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Trocari's Cristiano Peixoto got a free kick in the 90th minute. Luís Gustavo Botelho hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match.
