Oscar Macedo was shown his second yellow card after 22 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 23rd match minute, Real Natal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oscar Macedo to maneuver through the defense. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dedê do Nascimento to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Giuseppe Soeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flamengo GO's supporters rose to their feet, but Giuseppe Soeiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iwan Zuraw breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dedê do Nascimento scored 1-0 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lenílson Quadros, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
