After a rather tough play, Suzana EC's Roger Bastos got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Abel Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselmo Massa having to interfere. 14 minutes into the match, Turbonegro's Guga de Castro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Geovanni Andrade narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Anselmo Massa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amadeu Goiano in the 18th minute of the match. If Amadeu Goiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 22 minutes into the match, Turbonegro's goal looked a bit too open when Amadeu Goiano came free, but Anselmo Massa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anselmo Massa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudinho Pires, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. After 31 played minutes Turbonegro got a freekick which was hit by Juarês Godoi. Anselmo Massa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amadeu Goiano in the 32nd minute of play. If Amadeu Goiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Turbonegro's zone, Amadeu Goiano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anselmo Massa came out of the goal and Amadeu Goiano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 39 minutes into the match, Turbonegro's goal looked a bit too open when Isaltino Mineiro came free, but Anselmo Massa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 43 played minutes Turbonegro got a freekick which was hit by Rogério Romero. After having played for 44 minutes, Amadeu Goiano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Suzana EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amadeu Goiano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

A hard shot by Edgar de Queirós from long distance, 54 minutes into the match, got Anselmo Massa's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Abel Araújo took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Anselmo Massa to make any attempt to save it. If Amadeu Goiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Turbonegro defense, Amadeu Goiano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Anselmo Massa. The Turbonegro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Anselmo Massa should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Turbonegro's zone, Abel Araújo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anselmo Massa came out of the goal and Abel Araújo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abel Araújo might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anselmo Massa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abel Araújo ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amadeu Peres during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 91 minutes into the match, Turbonegro's goal looked a bit too open when Abel Araújo came free, but Anselmo Massa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amadeu Goiano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Suzana EC's zone, Rogério Romero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geovanni Andrade came out of the goal and Rogério Romero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Suzana EC played a much better game than Turbonegro and deserved their victory. The Turbonegro players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
