Felipe Loureiro's late challenge caught a Schmidtinho's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felipe Loureiro helped the player get up and apologised. Felipe Loureiro kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the match, Chico Travassos notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Cosmonautas Paulistas's Jefferson Sousa. Jefferson Sousa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jefferson Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldinho Passos, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. The Cosmonautas Paulistas fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when Cosmonautas Paulistas's Flávio Arantes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Jefferson Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guga Mazza in the 42nd minute of play. After 42 played minutes Cosmonautas Paulistas got a freekick which was hit by Renan Lara. In the 44th match minute, Cosmonautas Paulistas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adhemar Vinhas to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

If Felipe Loureiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 89 minutes into the match, Cosmonautas Paulistas's goal looked a bit too open when Guga Mazza came free, but Jefferson Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 93rd minute, Felipe Loureiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pedro Augusto Paranaense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Loureiro in the 95th minute of the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Cosmonautas Paulistas fully deserved thier win.
