A very good chance. 18 minutes into the game, Leandro Mangueira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Poeirama's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Puba the free kick. The supporters of Puba booed when Poeirama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leandro Mangueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Laerte Simões got free with Fernandinho Quintal in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Laerte Simões received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Fernandinho Quintal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Puba getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Nilton Dante hit a great ball. After 32 played minutes Puba got a freekick which was hit by Osvaldinho Mumbach. Poeirama's Ademir Linares shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 40th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Fernandinho Quintal but with some difficulty. Fernandinho Quintal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from César Fernandez in the 45th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by César Fernandez in the 46th minute of play forced Puba's goalkeeper Fernandinho Quintal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If César Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Romeu Antunes to strike the kick off in the second half. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fernandinho Quintal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Laerte Simões's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fernandinho Quintal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. Laerte Simões sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Poeirama walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
