Serafim Correia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Délio de Souza having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serafim Correia in the 13th minute of play forced Gaglioti F.C's goalkeeper Délio de Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gaglioti F.C's Ricardinho Meirelles got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 20 minutes into the game, Gaglioti F.C's Laércio Cruz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Waldir Pereira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Serafim Correia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Délio de Souza having to make a save. Waldir Pereira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matías Souto in the 25th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Gaglioti F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Serafim Correia came free, but Délio de Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 36 minutes, Waldir Pereira successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Waldir Pereira came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Gaglioti F.C's Laércio Cruz. But to his dismay, Laércio Cruz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gaglioti F.C's goalkeeper Délio de Souza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 47th minute, Serafim Correia made a precise shot to the right of Délio de Souza. Gaglioti F.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Serafim Correia to strike the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Gaglioti F.C had won after a very even match.
